Consultation has concluded

Free street libraries are wonderful grassroots initiatives that can bring a community together over a love of books, and encourage kids, teens and time-poor adults to get into reading.

A street library is a weatherproof box that is publicly available for anyone to leave or take books. Council has recently provided support to the Soroptimist Club to build a Free Little Library outside of La Perouse Primary School and another at Chifley Primary School.

We know there are more street libraries in the community and want to support booklovers out there by encouraging people to give, swap or take a book at these little libraries. Let us know where you’ve seen a street library in the Randwick City area by dropping a pin on our map below.

We’ll use this information to create a map of free street libraries across Randwick City, so that everyone can share in the joy of reading.
