Consultation has concluded
Thank you to those who provided feedback on our draft policy and guidelines. The Council staff who were involved in the planning and development of this policy and the supporting guidelines have assessed all feedback from the community consultation. The feedback has been very useful and has helped to further refine the guidelines, which will include the addition of an FAQ section, an Approval Flowchart Diagram and references to lane way gardens.
The amendments are currently being made and a report will be presented to the Council to formerly adopt the policy in the coming months.
Have you ever considered growing a street garden outside your home?
Randwick City Council has drafted a new Street Garden Policy and Guidelines to help our residents grow and maintain beautiful street gardens or planter boxes that complement the location, include suitable plantings, are safe and consider all users of the street.
The draft guidelines includes a list of recommended plants to suit the conditions in your neighbourhood and a handy checklist for ensuring your garden or planter box complies with our Street Garden Policy.
We encourage you to view the Draft Policy and Guidelines and tell us what you think. Hard copies of the policy and guidelines are also available at all Randwick City Libraries and at our Customer Service Centre.
Posting your comments headed "Street Garden Policy" to the General Manager, Randwick City Council, 30 Frances Street, Randwick NSW 2031.
Submissions close 9am 8 June 2018.
