The rounadabout of kindness

I get to experience a little bit of kindness most mornings on my walk to work. I need to cross a road at a busy roundabout and waiting for a safe break in the traffic can take quite a while. Most mornings, however, a kind driver will slow down and wave me across, even though they have right of way, and they usually do it with a smile. It lifts my spirits because it's such a simple, lovely and considerate interaction I get to have with a different stranger each day. I make sure I give a smile and a wave back, too, because what goes around, comes around.
