Continuing on from our Vision 2040 community consultation, Randwick Council has identified 11 Local Character Areas across Randwick City and developed draft Local Character Statements for each area. Local Character Areas will become part of Council’s planning controls and will help inform Council’s strategies, plans and policies. Explore our Local Character Areas and have your say.

The intersection of Maroubra Road, Mons Avenue and Cooper Street, Maroubra is being upgraded to improve the safety of the intersection. Based on community feedback, the revised design is now on exhibition.

In March 2019 we consulted extensively with the community to assist in the preparation of a masterplan and streetscape concepts for Clovelly Road. The draft masterplan is now on exhibition and we are again seeking your feedback. The masterplan will guide the future vision for the precinct and improve the liveability and vitality of this much-loved area.

Randwick Council is currently planning the next stage of upgrading Heffron Park with a new, world-class sporting facility known as The Heffron Centre. The Heffron Centre will offer state-of-the-art multipurpose community facilities, which will contain a new indoor multi-purpose sports facility, gymnastics facility, South Sydney Rabbitohs community and high-performance centre, showcase sporting field and new lighting for the south-west oval. We would like to learn more about your ideas and thoughts for the future of The Heffron Centre.

Council is preparing our open space and recreation needs study to guide improvements to our parks, sporting facilities and open spaces, and assist in their future management. If you visit our parks, reserves, beaches or sporting fields, we’d like to hear about how you use these spaces and facilities, what activities you do, what infrastructure is needed and what is important to you.

Randwick City Council is proposing to enter into a draft Deed of Variation to the Voluntary Planning Agreement for the Newmarket Randwick site (164–174 Barker St, Randwick). Under the draft variation, it is proposed that the Developer provide an easement for an electrical substation, stormwater easement for drainage and a monetary contribution for maintenance to the Big Stable Building and land and/or upgrade works to Paine Reserve north.
Consultation period: 4 March to 1 April 2020.

The study will provide Council with information to better understand, plan and manage the risk of flooding across these catchments. If you live in the areas mentioned, your local knowledge and personal experience will help us identify flooding ‘trouble spots’ and aid in the development of a computer flood model.
