Consultation has concluded.

Council adopted the Conflict of Interest Policy - Dealing with Council-related Development policy at its meeting on 27 June 2023.

Randwick Council is required to have a formal Conflict of Interest Policy in relation to Council-related development in accordance with amendments to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulations 2021.

Where Council is the developer, landowner or holds a commercial interest in the land they regulate, an inherent conflict can arise. Identifying these conflicts of interest early and finding ways to address them is crucial to good governance.

The policy aims to manage potential conflicts of interest and increase transparency at all stages of the development process for Council-related development and meet the relevant legislative requirements.

The Policy details the process for identifying and managing potential conflicts of interest in relation to Council-related development. The Policy has been prepared in accordance with the Council-related Development Application Conflict of Interest Guidelines published by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment, as well as incorporating Council’s current practice and procedures for dealing with Council-related development.
