Coral Sea Park and the Greening of Randwick

Randwick CC now shares the GSC ambition of a 40% canopy over its lands by 2030, to provide shade and hence lower temperatures in summer to playgrounds and footpaths leading to them. The footpaths (and cycleways) are designed as Green Links between parks/reserves, town/village centres, beaches and other recreation areas, to form the Randwick and Greater Sydney Green Grid. Over the past two years I have walked all over Randwick identifying possible Pedestrian Green Links, photographing every reserve playground. Coral Sea Park can be linked by routes to Cromwell Park (Malabar Beach), Heffron Park and the Randwick Environmental Park. It needs more trees for shade for the playground and for a new footpath round the eastern side.
