What is a Plan of Management?

A Plan of Management (PoM) is a strategic document providing a planning and management framework for the future use, development and maintenance of Council-owned community land or Crown land in accordance with relevant legislative requirements (e.g. under the Local Government Act or Crown Land Management Act). Preparation of a PoM also presents an opportunity to engage with the community and create a vision and values that are consistent with the needs and expectations of the community.

    What is a Masterplan?

A masterplan is a dynamic long-term planning document that provides a conceptual layout to guide future growth and development. Master planning is about making the connection between buildings, social settings, and their surrounding environments. A masterplan includes analysis, recommendations, and proposals for a site’s population, economy, housing, transportation, community facilities, and land use. It is based on public input, surveys, planning initiatives, existing development, physical characteristics, and social and economic conditions.
