More parking created on William St, Randwick as part of light rail parking recovery plan

Parking on William St, Randwick will be changed from parallel to angle parking on Wednesday, 17 February 2016 creating 18 additional parking spaces as part of Randwick City Council’s parking recovery plan.

The changes are part of an ongoing plan by the Council to create more onstreet parking spaces in areas close to the light rail route where parking is being removed because of construction of light rail.

Council consulted with local residents about the proposed changes in December and January with residents broadly supporting the changes saying parking was already difficult in the area.

The work will take place on Wednesday 17 February 2016 from 7pm to 11.30pm. At a later date, new islands and planting areas will be installed at the intersections.

Transport for NSW has this week commenced light rail construction works on nearby Alison Rd resulting in the removal of some parking along Alison Rd.
