Consultation has concluded.

There are a number of shark mitigation measures along the Randwick City coastline to monitor sharks and to help keep swimmers safe.

These include SMART drumlines (Shark Management Alert in Real Time) and listening stations (both currently being trialled since early 2022), as well as two shark nets at Maroubra and Coogee and drones used by Lifeguards and life savers. Read more on our Shark Management.

These shark mitigation measures are largely managed by the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI).

DPI is currently seeking feedback from the Randwick City community about shark mitigation measures.

Please note this is not a Randwick City Council survey, but we would encourage people to complete the survey as the data will be used by both DPI and Randwick Council to help us better understand community attitudes.

The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete.

Survey closes: Wednesday 22 February 2023.
