What is a Voluntary Planning Agreement?
A Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) is a legal agreement entered into by a planning authority, such as Randwick Council, and a developer. Under the VPA, a developer agrees to provide or fund community benefits such as public amenities, public services, affordable housing, transport, or other infrastructure.
Council is proposing to enter into a draft VPA for the development at 177-197 Anzac Parade, Kensington with the Developer of the site, Cedar Pacific 1 Pty Ltd (ACN 631 194 217).
The benefits of this proposed Voluntary Planning Agreement
This proposed VPA will benefit the community in the following ways:
- An estimated $4.6m Affordable Housing Monetary Contribution to the Kensington and Kingsford Town Centres - Affordable Housing Plan
- An estimated $1.4m contribution to the Community Infrastructure Contribution (CIC) to the Kensington and Kingsford Town - Community Infrastructure Contributions Plan, which includes landscape upgrades to water sensitive urban design works along the Anzac Parade frontage.
