Randwick City Council’s Draft 2024-25 Operational Plan and Budget is our one-year plan that details the projects and activities that will be undertaken in the financial year to achieve the commitments made in our 2022-2026 Delivery Program. It includes a detailed budget for our activities and a Statement of Revenue Policy.

The 2024-25 budget has been set to ensure that we maintain financial sustainability, adequate liquidity and sound asset performance. Given the current economic environment of high inflation and high interest rates, the 2024-25 budget has been prepared to withstand short-term economic uncertainties.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Some of our important projects include:

  • Transforming Blenheim House into a dedicated creative space
  • Upgrading seven playgrounds at Shaw Reserve (Kingsford), Wills Reserve (Kensington), Fred Williams Reserve (Phillip Bay), Hurley Reserve and Finucane Reserve (Matraville), Burnie Park (Clovelly), and Ocean View (Maroubra)
  • Designing and building a new BMX / pump park
  • Constructing a new façade for Lionel Bowen Library, Maroubra
  • Upgrading Maroubra Junction and Matraville town centres
  • Malabar Memorial Hall and Community Library entrance refurbishment
  • More events and activities to recognise, value, and celebrate our First Nations history
  • Planting 5000 new native plants and shrubs, and 2000 new street trees
  • Installing half basketball courts in every Ward

HOW THE BUDGET WILL AFFECT YOU

  • Rates increase by 4.9%*
  • Domestic waste management charge up by $26.55 to $689.90 per annum

*Rate variation explained:
Each year the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) sets the rate peg, which determines the maximum percentage amount by which a Council may increase its general income for the year.
