Consultation has concluded.
Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas for new signs in our dog off-leash parks. We received over 70 suggestions, with the top five most common ideas being:
Supervise your dog at all times – Owners must watch their dogs and ensure they are under control, especially around children and other park users.
Be respectful of others – Consider all park visitors, including children, older people, and other dogs.
Pick up your dog’s poo and bin it – Clean up after your dog and dispose of waste properly.
Keep dogs on a leash outside off-leash areas – Follow leash rules, respect boundaries, and be aware of penalties for non-compliance.
Watch your dog, not your phone – Stay attentive to your dog’s behavior rather than being distracted.
We have used these suggestions, along with others, to create a clear and visually appealing sign. The first has been installed at Muraborah Reserve in Maroubra, with more to follow in other Randwick City dog parks in the coming months.
