CONSULTATION CONCLUDED: The Inclusive Randwick Strategy was adopted by Council on 22 February 2022.

The Inclusive Randwick Strategy is our plan to support a connected, resilient, safe and diverse community

Randwick Council is committed to our vison of developing a ‘sense of community’ and aims to support and develop a connected, cohesive, safe, and resilient community where all people feel they belong, can participate, and thrive.

ThInclusive Randwick Strategy is 10-year plan to help deliver Councils longer term vision contained in the Community Strategic Plan (CSP) and articulates our vision, attitudes, and actions toward the community we love and serve.

The strategy will be delivered through specific objectives and strategic approaches and incorporated as part of Council’s delivery program and annual operational plans and budgets.

Overall, our objectives are for people to feel part of their community, have their social needs met and see an improvement in safety, health, and wellbeing.

Specifically, we have set ourselves 30 strategic approaches to achieve our objectives. Some of these approaches include:

  • Providing a dedicated facility to youth services – to help bridge the service gap for young people in our city

  • Actively delivering domestic violence awareness campaigns – to continue our stand and support against violence toward women and children

  • Providing financial investment to community ideas, initiatives, and events - to build capacity and connection in community members and groups

  • Advocating for Wi-Fi in social housing estates – where the digital divide has increased

  • Developing a diversity framework – so no sector of our community is left behind

  • Undertaking an audit on the community use of our venues - to provide recommendations for a streamlined and accessible approach

  • Conducting a study to identify future library facilities - as we know our libraries bring people together and provide a sense of belonging
