Consultation has concluded

UPDATE: At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 28 November 2023, Council resolved to run monthly markets on Sundays at both Maroubra Beach and Heffron Park.

The Maroubra Beach markets will kick off on Sunday 5 May and will continue on the first Sunday of the month.

Enjoy an eclectic mix of high-quality stalls, across food, beverage, fashion, vintage, homewares, toys, art, craft, gifting, plants and plenty more.

Markets are coming to Randwick City!

Randwick Council is planning to host regular markets starting from February 2024, connecting our community to providers of local fresh produce, local artists, and/or food stalls.

To ensure we choose the best location for these exciting new markets, we explored a number of potential sites across Randwick City and narrowed down our options to two potential locations:

  1. Heffron Park car park (North near Fitzgerald Ave), Maroubra, or
  2. Broadarrow Reserve at Maroubra Beach.

Your opinion matters to us, and we would love to hear your preferred location and the type of market you'd like to visit.

Have your say:

You can also send your comments headed "Randwick City Markets " to the General Manager by email council@randwick.nsw.gov.au or mail to 30 Frances Street, Randwick NSW 2031.

Part of Council's Economic Development Strategy, these markets will be on trial until October 2024. After the trial period, Council will assess the viability of the location, the type of markets held, and frequency with the aim of establishing regular markets. Your feedback and participation in the survey will play a key role in making this initiative a success.

You can learn more about the Randwick Markets Program Trial by reading the 25 July 2023 Council Report here (see page 139).

Feedback open: 21 August to 9am, 19 September 2023

BROADARROW RESERVE PARKING
Council is also currently seeking community feedback on using Broadarrow Reserve as additional parking space on some weekends and public holidays, sunrise to sunset, between 1 November and 31 March each year. The aim is to ease the strain on local parking when visitor numbers at the beach are expected to be high.
