Randwick City Council is seeking feedback on our draft Community Safety Action Plan.

Community safety isn't just about how we prevent and respond to crimes - it covers a wide range of factors including social connection, affordable housing, referrals to support services, and safety at our coastlines.

We already have a low crime rate and generally high levels of community safety in our LGA. We're committed to further elevating the safety and wellbeing of everyone in our area, whether they are residents, commuters, or visitors.

Our draft Community Safety Action Plan is informed by the results of our 2024 Community Safety Study and relevant data. It sets out how we'll enhance safety in our community and how we'll measure our progress, divided into four interconnected focus areas:

  • Structural conditions for safety
e.g. secure, affordable housing and emergency management

  • Environmental conditions for safety
e.g. safe, welcoming public spaces and beach safety

  • Interpersonal conditions for safety
e.g. connected communities and respectful relationships

  • Individual conditions for safety
e.g. social-emotional wellbeing and referrals to support services

Read the draft Plan for more information, and for our full list of draft actions to enhance safety.
