Stage 1

Stage 1 Consultation
March to May 2018

Randwick City Council is working with our community to develop a dedicated Smart City Strategy.

What is a smart pole and how might they be used in Randwick? How are people’s working habits changing, and how can Council plan for and accommodate changing trends? When will driverless cars arrive on our roads, and what does Council need to do to prepare? These are some of the questions we need to consider.

Wireless networks (like Wi-Fi), sensors, real time information, online services, mobile applications, big data collection and analysis, innovation programs, citizen-centric design, and digital connectivity are all hallmarks of smart cities.

Above all, a smart city puts people at the centre, using technology to improve liveability, economic development, and sustainability. It is local community priorities that will shape our smart city Strategy, so your ideas and views are paramount.
