Consultation has concluded.

Thanks for your feedback on the planned upgrades at Woomera Reserve. Over the next few months, the upgrade plans will be finalised based on community feedback. You can read the outcomes of the consultation in our community consultation report here.

Randwick Council is embarking on an exciting upgrade of Woomera Reserve at Little Bay, introducing fantastic new additions for more outdoor fun.

  • A new playground for little ones to enjoy
  • Little Bay’s first outdoor gym with training equipment to suit all abilities
  • Upgraded basketball court with line markings
  • Improved connectivity with a new footpath connecting the playground to Esperance Close and Noora Ave

Playground upgrade

After consulting with our Little Bay community, we’re back with not one, but two fantastic concepts to upgrade the playground. Our two playground concepts are bursting with upgrades you’ll love:

  • Bright, cushiony rubber soft fall
  • A new taller shade cloth
  • Fresh plantings and trees for extra shade
  • Comfy new seats to sit and watch the action
  • All-natural timber play equipment
  • Inclusive fun with a nest swing, challenging balance trail and an in-ground trampoline

The one thing we can’t decide on is the main play tower, and that's where you come in! Which concept should we bring to life?

OPTION 1: Includes 2.4m high tube slide, 1.2m high junior slide, wobbly bridge, climbing net and play panel.

OPTION 2: Includes 1.9m high slide, 0.87m high double junior slide, monkey bars, climbing net, climbing wall and play panel.

Outdoor gym

The new outdoor gym will provide a variety of equipment including a pull-down station, elliptical trainer, chest press, leg press, aerobic cycle, sit up bench, parallel bars, double pull up bars and monkey bars.

The design is suitable for people of all fitness levels and abilities. The equipment will be made from corrosion-resistant material and each piece will come with instructional signage.

Share your thoughts on the concept plan and tell us how and when you will use the new gym.

Randwick City Council is upgrading the playground in Woomera Reserve, Little Bay and building a new path connecting Esperance Close with the playground.

The playground upgrade is one of many we are undertaking over the coming years, in response to the community’s request to see play spaces in Randwick City upgraded to include more exciting and adventurous equipment suitable for a range of ages and abilities*.

Council aims to maintain a very high community satisfaction rating for our open spaces, coastal walkways and playgrounds.

The Woomera Reserve play equipment was last upgraded in 2005. The upgrade will include new play equipment, softfall and seating to encourage more families to visit and enjoy the park, which is tucked in between Bunnerong Road and residential properties.

We would love to hear from local families to help us understand what you’d like to see in the new playground to make it fun and engaging!

    • Join us at the playground to share your ideas in person on Tuesday 15 November, 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

Consultation period: 26 October to 27 November 2022.

Next steps: Your ideas will be used to help develop a concept plan for the upgrade. Plans will be exhibited for further community feedback early 2023.
