Randwick City Council is upgrading the playground at Kokoda Memorial Park, Kensington.

In mid-2019, we asked the community to tell us how the new playground should be designed. More than 40 playgrounds were designed by local kids aged 1 to 11 years old, some with a little help from mum and dad.

What we heard:
Parents and children want a playground for all ages, where big kids and little kids can jump, swing, climb and slide. We listened and are proposing bigger swings, and rope play with monkey bars for the big kids, as well as a toddler swing, seesaw, and a new boat for imaginative play for the little ones. The playground will also feature a wheelchair accessible carousel and sound sensory play equipment.
