Randwick City Council is upgrading the playground at Alison Park, Randwick.

Following consultation with the community last year where we learned more about how you use the park and your ideas for the upgrade, we have come up with two concepts and we need your help to decide which one is the best for Alison Park!

Both concepts use highly durable equipment, specially designed for Aussie playgrounds to allow kids of all ages to run, jump, climb and slide.

OPTION 1
View Nature feel concept plan and artist impressionView Nature feel concept plan and artist impression
Nature feel with all-timber equipment. The feature play tower includes a 3m high climbing net and climbing wall, a 1.5m high slide and a 2.4m high curved slide.

OPTION 2
View Urban feel concept plan and artist impression

Urban feel with equipment made from high pressure laminate. The feature play tower includes an incline net, 3m high tube slide and 1.2m high open slide.

The upgrade will also include:

  • New seating within the fenced playground
  • Sheltered picnic table and benches outside the playground
  • Garden bed with sandstone block edges
  • Feature tree
  • Updated shade cloth

Stage 1 consultation

Consultation has concluded.

Randwick City Council is upgrading the playground at Alison Park, Alison Road Randwick.

The playground upgrade is one of many we are undertaking over the coming years, in response to the community’s request to see play spaces in Randwick City upgraded to include more exciting and adventurous equipment suitable for a range of ages and abilities*.

Council aims to maintain a very high community satisfaction rating for our open spaces, coastal walkways and playgrounds.

Last updated in 2000, the Alison Park Playground is located near the Randwick Town Centre, schools, and childcare centres, and is popular with local families and visitors. There approximately 1,600 children aged 0-5 and 2,000 children aged 5 to 11 living in the suburb of Randwick. This means the provision of quality play spaces is important for the physical and mental development of children as well as providing socialising opportunities for children and parents and carers.

The upgrade will include new play equipment, rubber soft fall and shade cloths.

We would love to hear from the children of Randwick to help us understand what you’d like to see in the new playground.
