Randwick Council is seeking your feedback on proposed plans to install low fencing and create new formalised parking bays in the Anzac Parade median between Beauchamp Road, Matraville and Bunnerong Road, Phillip Bay.

Why are changes proposed?

Earlier this year, Council installed No Parking signs to address concerns about vehicles – including cars, boats, trailers, caravans, and trucks – parking on the Anzac Parade grass median strip.

The parked vehicles were causing safety issues and negatively impacting on the amenity of the area.

The purpose of installing fencing is to provide a visual and physical barrier to support the No Parking signage.

Council has identified a number of locations where approximately 81 new formalised parking spaces could be created to support residential and visitor parking.

What’s being proposed?

  • Installation of arris rail fencing to help prevent vehicles from parking on the grassed central median strip. This fencing is a proven, low-maintenance solution that restricts vehicle access while keeping the area open for community use.
  • The plans include angled parking spaces for cars. Parking for boats, trailers, caravans, and trucks will not be accommodated in these areas.
