Where is the site exactly?

The project site is located at the intersection of Clovelly Road and Burnie Street, Clovelly. The below map illustrates the rough project boundaries.

    What has been designed?

Following the first round of consultation and extensive traffic and pedestrian studies, Council has developed a draft Concept Desing with appointed architects JMD Design. The concept aims to deliver a people focussed new green urban space and streetscape improvements.

Will this remove the bus stop?

No, the bus stop will remain.

Will this project remove parking on the slip lane?

The concept does convert the slip lane into an accessible pedestrian staircase and additional area for dense planting on the site. Council is working with the design team to ensure that there is still convenient parking for local shops.

    Who is funding this project?

Design and documentation of this project will be delivered through Council’s 22/23 Capital Works Fund. Once we have an approved concept design, Council will look to allocate funding in the proceeding year’s Capital Works Funding Budget.

When will the works begin and when will the project reach completion?

At this stage the concept design and documentation phase is scheduled to be completed later this year.  The construction of the project will commence when appropriate funding is identified in Council’s future Capital Works Program.

What role will the community play in designing the space?

The first round of community consultation has helped to inform the draft Concept currently on display. Our second round of consultation asks for your feedback on the draft, and any ideas on how we make this a space our community love.

What’s happening with Clovelly and Carrington Road Pocket Park Project?

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the Clovelly and Carrington Road Pocket Park Project. Following two rounds of community engagement, we’re excited to continue the momentum and begin works on the site, later this year. We will continue to keep neighbouring residents and businesses abreast of any planned works, and aim to minimise disruption as these take place.
