Report to Council
The draft final Development Control Plan (DCP) was due to be reported to Council's Planning Committee on 14 May 2013 but because of notification difficulties the DCP agenda item has been deferred for consideration at the Council meeting of Tuesday 28 May 2013 at 6PM.

You can also visit the DCP webpage on Council's website to keep up to date on the progress of the draft DCP.

A DCP is a written document with supporting maps and diagrams made by Council in consultation with the community. It has planning and design guidelines for new development, which need to be considered in preparing a Development Application.

See the Library on this site for the draft DCP and the FAQs for more information.

DCPs supplement the statutory planning and development controls of Local Environmental Plans (LEP). They apply to different types of development and sites such as dwelling houses, residential flat buildings, and business centres. DCPs may also address specific planning and development issues such as design excellence, heritage and sustainability.

While DCPs do not have the same level of statutory weight as an LEP, they are an important consideration in the development assessment and approval process.

At present Randwick has 26 site specific and issues based DCPs as well as a number of planning related policies. These have been reviewed and updated and consolidated into the draft DCP.

Up to 12 March 2013 comments and submissions on the draft DCP could be uploaded to Council through the submissions function of this website, or sent:

Deadline for submissions of 12 March 2013 has passed.
