Randwick City Council is planning an exciting upgrade to the playground at Dr Walters Park, Chifley.

Named in 1960 after Dr Cecil 'Cec' Walters, in recognition of his military and medical service to the community, the playground has been a beloved spot for local children for nearly 35 years.

We're proposing several new features for the upgrade:

  • new multi-play equipment with slides
  • a challenging climbing net
  • a sensory play area
  • new seating areas
  • colourful rubber soft-fall for the playground surface
  • resurfacing and extension of the basketball court, with line markings, a basketball hoop and new netball ring.

We also want your input on the playground's fencing. Do you prefer a high fence, a low fence, or no fence at all?

Check out our concept plan and let us know what you think by:

  • Filling in our survey below
  • Chatting with us in-person at the playground, on Wednesday 24 July at 3-4pm
  • Sending your comments headed 'Dr Walters Park Playground Upgrade' to council@randwick.nsw.gov.au or 30 Frances St, Randwick, 2031.

Feedback is open from 9 July to 5 August 2024.
