Randwick Council is proposing to introduce timed parking at the Heffron Centre car park to improve access and encourage regular turnover of parking spaces. Parking would remain free.
The Heffron Centre, Heffron Park Tennis Centre, and Heffron synthetic soccer field are some of Randwick City’s most popular and well-used sports and recreational facilities. The area is actively used every day by local sporting groups and community members.
To guide the proposed changes, Council conducted a parking study to understand how people currently use the car park and to identify ways to improve it.
The proposed timed parking changes include:
- Converting all unrestricted parking spaces to 4P (4-hour) parking
- Introducing 2P (2-hour) parking restrictions on 180 spaces on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm (these spaces will have 4-hour limits at all other times)
- Increasing staff parking spaces from 14 to 44
- Maintaining 7 disability parking spaces
- Maintaining 4 electric vehicle charging spaces
- Maintaining 6 motorcycle parking spaces
