We are upgrading Hereward Reserve playground, Maroubra in response to community feedback and Council’s Play Space Strategy.
Over the past few years, we've gathered feedback from the local families using the playground about what works well and what could be improved.
Using this feedback, we have developed a draft concept design that responds to the community’s needs, gives the playground a fresh new look, and updates ageing equipment for everyone to enjoy. This design includes:
- New play equipment for a range of ages and abilities, including inclusive fun with a nest swing, challenging climbing set and slide.
- New footpaths to improve accessibility
- New, rubber softfall surfacing
- A reconfigured playground layout to improve safety and avoid debris from overhead trees
- Retained street libraries, brick walling, existing ramp and surrounding trees.
See the proposed changes below!
Note: The renders are an artist impression only: colours, planting and exact configuration are subject to change.
