Kensington West Kingsford LATM
Consultation has concluded
Update: The outcomes of this consultation and recommended actions will be reported to the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 17 June 2025.
The report considered a range of factors, including community feedback, safety concerns, and design constraints. The report recommends that a range of traffic treatments be endorsed by Council, including continuous raised footpaths, pedestrian refuges, raised intersections, and an area wide 40km/h speed limit.

Kensington West Kingsford Local Area Traffic Management
Council has completed a Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) study of Kensington and West Kingsford. The study aims to create safer, slower, and more pleasant streets in the local area.
Based on traffic analyses and community feedback, the study recommends a range of traffic calming treatments across the area such as:
- raised intersections
- pedestrian refuge islands
- roundabouts
- slow points
A staged change from a 50km/h to a 40km/h speed limit in the study area is also proposed.
