Stage 1 consultation - Oct to Dec 2021

Randwick City Council is undertaking a Corridor Study for the length of Maroubra Road, from Bunnerong Road to Malabar Road, Maroubra.

The study will identify road safety and transport problems, the current and future operation of the road, and the conditions experienced by pedestrians and cyclists.

From the study, Council will be able to prioritise short and long term upgrades along the corridor, to improve road safety and connectivity for all road users.

Along with the draft study, concept plans will also be developed to:

  • Improve safety at intersections for all road users
  • Improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists
  • Create stronger links for active transport, including pedestrian and cycle connections
  • Create spaces for people, such as new street furniture
  • Consider changes to parking whilst minimising parking loss

What will happen next?

A draft corridor study, including concept plans, will be developed based on your feedback as well as background studies reviews, site based audits, traffic counts and intersection surveys, traffic modelling, crash data analysis and safety review.
