there needs to be provision for a large covered bus and tram interchange where the light rail terminates on High St. Large numbers of passengers will need to be transported to and from the Coogee basin and other areas to this terminal when their bus services to and from the city are discontinued.

Belmore Road becomes very congested.I often sit on a bus coming from or going to the CBD and it can take ten to fifteen minutes at rush hour for the short trip between Alison Road and High Street. This is because there are no traffic lights on the two main pedestrian crossings. It is incredibly inefficient for 50 people on a bus to be stuck because an intermittent stream of pedestrians cross during five minutes. It is also dangerous as car and van drivers (not bus drivers) become impatient and can come close to hitting pedestrians.

Randwick Junction needs to be better connected to surrounding suburbs by separated bike paths. This could significantly reduce the traffic congestion in the area. Once the light rail is complete a network of separated bike paths connecting the surrounding area with the light rail terminus will be even more important - otherwise its just a net loss for those of us who use the existing bus routes to commute that go through Randwick.

Randwick Junction town centre contains all the facilities one needs for a healthy lifestyle but for bike riders it is a nightmare. Randwick CC drew up a bike route plan for the suburb 5 years ago but not one of the planned 'future' routes has been implemented (even priority 1). This plan did not recognise that the Junction lies on the only non-hilly N-S route east of Anzac Parade. There are no safe routes for cyclists to or through the town centre from any direction.
