Consultation has concluded

The proposed fees and charges for Space to Create at Bowen Library were adopted at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 22 November 2022. You can learn more about Space to Create here.

Space to Create is an exciting new initiative to provide a place for local writers and artists to practice, develop and share their skills at the Lionel Bowen Library, Maroubra.

Office space on the third floor of Bowen Library is being activated to provide eight artist residencies for a nominal weekly fee and bond. The space is adjacent to the library’s makerspace (The Third Space), recording studio (The Studio Space) and meeting rooms for hire.

Space to Create delivers on Council's promise to increase the utilisation of all existing Council venues and spaces by cultural arts by 10% from 2021*. You can read more about how Council plans to support and grow the diversity of arts and cultural activities within Randwick City in our Arts and Culture Strategy.
