Maroubra Beach Playground Upgrade

Surf’s up for a new playground at Maroubra Beach!

Randwick Council is upgrading the Maroubra Beach playground, and thanks to community feedback, we’ve packed it with fun.

We heard the kids of Maroubra would like more swings, slides, climbing and adventure play. We’ve taken your ideas on board and are excited to share what’s planned:

• A lifeguard-themed play tower with two slides, a climbing net, and fireman pole
• Swings for everyone - toddler seats, a junior seat and a nest swing
• A new sandpit play area with a wheelchair accessible play table - perfect for beachside fun
• More trees and plantings
• Picnic tables and benches
• Double flying fox

We're keeping the existing concrete path, garden bed, lawn area, fence, shade sails, and trees.

To make room for more play, we're expanding the playground into the current outdoor gym area and proposing to install a double flying fox! The gym will be moved to the south end of the beach (see our Maroubra Beach outdoor gym page for more information).
