Randwick Council's Open Space and Environment Discussion Paper proposes an overall increase of about 31 hectares in the total land area zoned for open space and environmental purposes across the City.

The Paper

  • highlights the continued importance of land zoned for recreation and conservation purposes
  • reviews existing open space sites to identify their suitable zones and
  • explores sites which could be formally acknowledged under open space, environmental protection and national park zones.

The Paper also addresses planning controls and environmental considerations that regulate or affect the use, maintenance and development of open space and natural environment land in Randwick City.

Council welcomes community comments and feedback on the Open Space and Environment Discussion Paper in the discussion topics below as well as your response to our quick poll opposite.
